Gwynt y Môr

Kersten Europe has been asked to deliver the maintenance platforms for the Gwynt y Môr Wind Farm

Gwynt y Môr is an Offshore Wind Farm located in the Irish Sea, just 18 km off the coast of North Wales. With 160 turbines, it will be Wales' largest wind farm with a maximum capacity of 576 MW. The expected output is capable of powering around 400.000 households.

Constructions of the wind farm began in December 2011 and it is expected to be fully commissioned by 2014.


Kersten Europe Renewable Energy

Kersten Europe delivers the rectangular hollow sections on behalf of the maintenance platforms. Kersten Europe provides the main supports, a bent and 3D cut large Rectangular Hollow Section 300x200mm.

By using the latest CNC profile bending machines Kersten Europe is able to bend large hollow sections up to 500x500mm.
After bending the sections are cut to size including welding preparations using advanced 3D contour cutting with robot technology.
