OFFSHORE WIND FARM BUTENDIEK

The offshore wind farm Butendiek will arise in the North Sea, about 32 km west of the island of Sylt in early 2014. The project area is located close to the German-Danish border. 

The Butendiek project comprises of 80 Siemens wind turbines, having a rated power of 3.6 MW, resulting in a total capacity of 288 MW. While in the course of 2013 the components of the wind farm will be produced, the start of the offshore installations is scheduled to April 2014. As soon as being commissioned in 2015 this wind farm will provide renewable energy for approx. 360,000 households.

 


Kersten Europe

The fabrication of the substations’ J-tubes took place at the Kersten Europe production facility. 18 tubes Ø 406.4 x 15.9mm and 3 tubes Ø 559 x 20mm have been bent into J-tubes with straight legs. They’ve been cut to size with welding edge preparations (V-seam - 30° bevel)
