The torch-shaped Aspire Tower is designed by architect Hadi Simaan for the 15th Asian Games. This Olympic-style sporting event took place in Doha in Dec. 2006. Constructions began in 2005.
The 300 meter tall skyscraper is the tallest building in Doha and Qatar. The building has 36 floors. The total floor area is 35.000 m². The buildings functions as a sports museum, a four storey presidential apartment, three storey rotating restaurant and a two storey viewing platform. Costs of the building exceeds the 133 million euros.
The Aspire Tower is known for its unique shape. Kersten Europe bent tubes Ø273mm and Ø193mm for the steel circles around the building.
