Mushrif Central Park - Souk market
Mushrif Central Park
Mushrif Central Park was first opened to the public in 1982. It is one of the oldest and largest urban parks in Abu Dhabi. It was originally known as Mushrif Park. The new name, Mushrif Central Park, reflects the park's positioning at the heart of the community both geographically and historically.
The redevelopment of the park is an extraordinary project which covers a total area of 14.5 hectares, 118,374 m3 lawn area and 34,442 m2 of walkways. They receive about 158,000 visitors a year.
The redevelopment started in January 2013
In paying homage to the region and its heritage, this Friday souk will tempt all of Mushrif Central Park visitors with its eclectic array of offerings, from talented and creative Abu Dhabi residents.
The outdoor souk market has a unique roof construction. The curved canopies are made out of steel tubes 139.7 x 8.0mm. Kersten Middle East bent all tubes for this project.
Besides the Friday Souk roof construction Kersten delivered some very complex 3D-bending work for the Performing arts venue at Mushrif Central Park
