Municipal Stadium in Poznań

The Municipal Stadium in Poznań will be one of the largest stadiums in Poland designed in complete conformity with UEFA standards. The stadium will have the capacity to hold a total of 46,676 spectators, however this will be reduced to 41,018 spectators for Euro 2012 matches taking place in Poznań. The planned deadline for completion of modernisation works is June 2010. Group stage matches will be played at this venue during the 2012 European Championship.

The stadium is currently used by the football club Lech Poznań, whose matches regularly attract over 20,000 spectators. The stadium also hosts matches of the Polish national team, in addition to serving as a venue for concerts, meetings and cultural events.

In the second half of 2009, Kersten Europe carried out work bending steel tubes ranging from Ø 114.3mm to Ø 355.6mm as well as HEA240 H-beams with a combined weight of approximately 500 tonnes in order to complete construction of the stadium's canopy.
